Trickle-down
economics is predicated on the theory that if the wealthy are given tax
incentives, they will create jobs so that the less affluent can provide
for themselves and their families. To the ancient Israelites,
trickle-down was not theoretical but theo-reality. In Exodus 16:4, God
said to Moses: "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people
are to go out each day and gather enough for that day." God's economy is
still flourishing today. As the apostle Paul promised: "My God will
meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus"
(Philippians 4:19).
